On October 21, 2021, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) Executive Board unanimously adopted Plan Bay Area 2050. This is the boldest version of Plan Bay Area ever to be adopted and comes with a price tag of $1.4 trillion dollars in order to address the region’s needs around housing, the economy, transportation, and the environment.
