On October 4, Friends of Greenbelt Alliance came together for our annual fundraising event, Savor the Greenbelt, to support our work in making the Bay Area an even more amazing place to live. In celebration of our Local Farms and Ranches Initiative, guests enjoyed the bounty of our region’s farms and ranches by way of the delectable culinary offerings of local chefs.
Our chefs came from all over the Bay Area. Michelin star recipient Joey Elenterio of Chez TJ in Mountain View offered sumptuous smoked sturgeon rillettes with mixed brassicas (broccoli, cauliflower, and the like). Wayne Pratt of The Station House Café in Point Reyes Station spoiled guests with raw Hog Island and Cove oysters as well as wood-fired Drakes Bay oysters. Finally, Kiri Mah, pastry chef at Pizzaiolo in Oakland, tempted our sweet tooth with a pear cake accompanied by a pear caramel sauce, crème fraiche, and Full Belly Farm walnut streusel.
