San Jose delays adoption of Habitat Plan

UPDATE (12/18/12): The San Jose City Council will be voting on the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Plan on January 29.

UPDATE (12/13/12): Today, the Valley Transportation Authority decided to go ahead and vote on the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Plan and it was approved! Now, San Jose is the only remaining partner that needs to approve the plan before it’s adopted. Urge your San Jose City Council Member to vote in favor of the Habitat Plan below!

The fate of the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Plan continues to hang in the balance. Unfortunately, the San Jose City Council has decided to delay voting on the Habitat Plan ahead of their Dec. 4 meeting.

The plan has already been approved by the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Santa Clara Valley Water District, and the Gilroy and Morgan Hill City Councils. If we can get San Jose to approve it, the last remaining partner—Valley Transportation Authority—will approve it as well.

We need your voice to push San Jose to approve the Habitat Plan as soon as possible. Any further delay could stall the process and cause resources for the plan to run out. Ten years into the process, we’ve come too far to stop now.

SUBMIT A LETTER to the San Jose City Council urging them to adopt the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Plan today! COME to the City Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 4 at 1:30 p.m. in San Jose City Hall and urge the council members in person!
