On September 26th, at the Conservatory of Flowers, Greenbelt Alliance celebrated its 66th anniversary! Surrounded by our community of dedicated and generous supporters, we raised a glass to the next 66 years of safeguarding both people and nature. With the support of our donors, we raised over $200,000 to continue advancing our vital mission of creating a climate-resilient future for the Bay Area.
Over 130 guests joined us to honor the region’s progress in climate resilience and to celebrate our Resilience Rockstar, Craig Hartman, a visionary leader making a lasting impact on Bay Area communities.
During the reception, attendees enjoyed exclusive access to the lush conservatory, filled with vibrant plants and blooming flowers. Guests mingled over local wine, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and live music from the Bay Area Jazz & Soul band.
Blueprint for the Future was a night filled with excitement, camaraderie, and a shared commitment to supporting Greenbelt Alliance’s remarkable 66-year legacy.
Honoring Craig Hartman
The Resilience Rockstar award, which honors leaders who shape a better Bay Area, comes at a crucial time as the region faces the intertwined challenges of climate change, housing insecurity, and access to nature for all Bay Area residents.
As a world-renowned architect and Design Partner for SOM’s West Coast practice for 30 years, Craig Hartman’s work stands out for its environmentally sustainable designs. His innovative work has earned him two U.S. patents for sustainable systems, over 250 awards for design and innovation, and eleven National AIA Honor Awards.
Hartman’s legacy exemplifies how built environments can create inviting public spaces for gathering and building community. His design principles align with Greenbelt Alliance’s mission to champion cities that are both climate-friendly and environmentally responsible.
Since Greenbelt Alliance’s founding in 1958 by passionate environmentalists and urban planners, we have envisioned a Bay Area where people and nature thrive together. Craig’s pioneering work reimagines urban landscapes, combining climate, community, and nature to create public spaces that contribute to climate solutions. We are proud to honor Craig Hartman with our Resilience Rockstar award.
Our Deepest Gratitude
This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors, who wholeheartedly endorse Greenbelt Alliance’s mission. Their unwavering commitment continues to be the foundation upon which we build a more sustainable Bay Area.
To everyone who attended and supported this year’s event, thank you for being part of Greenbelt Alliance’s journey. We look forward to your continued support as we embark on the next chapter of creating a sustainable and resilient Bay Area.
