Raised in the countryside of Morgan Hill, Cathy Trujillo grew up helping her parents work in the agriculture fields and orchards and experienced firsthand the challenges lower income communities face affecting land-use policies, healthy living and working conditions.
Coupled with her job as an Environmental Services Specialist for the City of San Jose and a background in Environmental Geology, Cathy brings to Greenbelt Alliance a remarkable set of skills and experiences to help increase Latino awareness of land-use issues in South Santa Clara County. Cathy is currently helping us map out the best ways to build relationships and expand our outreach in South County, promoting our work through her existing network and volunteer work, assisting in events, and translating South County’s monthly email newsletter, Saving Working Landscapes, into Spanish.
Cathy’s volunteer work is helping Greenbelt Alliance reach out to a diversity of communities in the Bay, which is part of what makes our region unique. We are grateful to have her with us and appreciate all of her hard work.
Thanks Cathy!
