Meet Jon
Jon Harvey serves as the Board Chair Emeritus of the Board of Directors for Greenbelt Alliance.
Jon Harvey has served on the Board of Greenbelt Alliance since 2008 and resides in East Alameda County.
He is a retired Mechanical Engineer from the computer and networking industry, having worked through the explosive growth of networking technology that commercialized the internet in the 90’s.
After leaving design and technology work in 2000, Jon became initially engaged in wildlife habitat conservation that led to being immersed in agricultural land conservation and farmer/rancher friendly policies.
As a board member of the of Brentwood Agricultural Land Trust, he helped lead a merger with another organization to expand geography and organizational stability to become the California Farmland Trust in 2017.
Previously, Jon served as Chairman and member of the East Alameda County Board of Zoning Adjustments and as a board member of the Tri-Valley Conservancy, a land trust that preserves farmland and open space in the Livermore area.
Jon’s interests and outdoor activities include cooking, gardening, playing drums, soccer, mountain biking, and skiing. A paramedic, he works as a Ski Patroller at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort.
