Last Tuesday, the Marin County Board of Supervisors voted to rename the Tennessee Valley Pathway after the late Charles McGlashan, who was a County Supervisor as well as a Greenbelt Alliance board member. Charles passed away suddenly at the age of 49 back in March 2011.
The recently renovated bike path runs along the southern bank of Coyote Creek for half a mile and serves as a great connector to other bikeways.
“Charles’s tireless leadership in protecting the places that make the Bay Area special made him a great community leader and a great board member,” said Greenbelt Alliance Executive Director Jeremy Madsen. “This pathway will allow more people to safely enjoy Marin’s spectacular beauty and the renaming is a fitting tribute to Charles’s important contribution to this area.”
