Greenbelt Alliance is excited to announce that Lana Russell-Hurd has joined our team as the new Regional Representative managing our Santa Rosa office. Lana will be leading our on-the-ground efforts in North Bay to protect the region’s natural landscapes and encourage the right development in the right places.
Lana joins our team with two master’s degrees from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo—in City and Regional Planning and Engineering with a Specialization in Transportation Planning. She has previously worked for the City of Santa Maria in Southern California and the U.S. Department of Transportation and has volunteered for Greenbelt Alliance and Save the Bay.
In Sonoma County, Lana will carry the torch for our work in protecting the county’s landscape—vital to wildlife, agriculture, and the quality of life of local residents. In the next seven years, six urban growth boundaries—which limit where a city can and cannot grow—will expire. That fact paired with the growing threat of bad development makes strengthening county land-use policies even more crucial to preserving the qualities that make the North Bay special.
To see how you can help with our efforts in the North Bay, contact Lana at lrussellhurd@greenbelt.org.
We are also excited to announce that Nancy Topp has joined our team as the new Accounting Manager. Nancy is a CPA who brings extensive accounting and tax experience to the Greenbelt Alliance. She has previously volunteered (and still does!) as one of our outings leader for a number of years before joining staff.
Join Nancy on our March 23 outing, Suñol Saunter!
