Event Highlights Smart Growth Potential in Downtown Antioch

PRESS ADVISORY

Antioch—Greenbelt Alliance will host a panel discussion and tour of Antioch's Rivertown to highlight urban revitalization plans and options on Saturday, November 16, 2002, from 10am to 1pm, beginning at the Nick Rodriguez Community Center, Arts and Crafts Room, 213 "F" St. in Antioch.

"Antioch is blessed with a historic downtown that has great views and enormous potential," says Julie Cummins, Outings Coordinator for Greenbelt Alliance. "The panel discussion and tour will examine opportunities and obstacles to the revitalization of downtown Antioch."

Panel members and tour speakers will include:

  • Nordyn Anderson, President, El Campanil Theatre Restoration Foundation;
  • Rick Carraher, President, Rivertown Business Association;
  • Sonya Cooney, President, Antioch Lions Club;
  • Jeff Eichenfield, Founder, Eichenfield and Associates, a consulting firm specializing in downtown revitalization;
  • Woody Karp, Project Developer, Eden Housing; and
  • Reggie Moore, speaking as an individual Antioch resident.
