In-fill development good for San Jose

Letter to the Editor

Michelle Beasely

North San Jose represents the largest and most significant opportunity for good infill development in the Bay Area. As your (May 30) editorial said, a good development plan will bear fruit years into the future.

Redeveloping an urban area works best when the overall picture is taken into account. The plan should be crafted to create a community where residents can walk to grocery stores, schools and parks; get around easily on streets, walking trails and bike paths; and are happy to call their neighborhood home. A plan that fails to put these pieces together would be a wasted opportunity on a grand scale.
