Alliance Origins: Building the Movement for a Better Bay Area

work to protect open space and promote livable communities. In its early
years, Citizens for Regional Recreation and Parks, the forerunner of Greenbelt
Alliance, focused much of its attention on educating Bay Area residents
about the need to protect parks and recreational areas.
