Message from the Editor
Hello Greenbelt Alliance members and friends. Five of the seven ballot measures that we took a stance on swung our way during the elections. Get a full recap on the Open Space and Smart Growth ballot measures in this month's edition. Thank you for taking action and voting. We'll do our best to keep you informed on important campaigns in this and future Newswires.

Vacaville: At a Crossroads
Vacaville has an opportunity to protect its long-term quality of life. Greenbelt Alliance has released a report that seeks to explore smart-growth alternatives on how Vacaville can preserve its open space while providing room for growth. Read our article on the report to find out how upcoming growth decisions may determine Vacaville's future.

Election Wrap-Up: Greenbelt Measures Win
Bay Area and California voters decided several important growth-related ballot measures this past Election Day. Of the seven measures Greenbelt Alliance took a position on, five went our way!

Revitalizing Rivertown: the Antioch Urban Outing
Antioch is blessed with a historic downtown that has great views and enormous potential. During our recent Urban Outing in Antioch, residents and panel speakers explored the strengths and challenges to revitalizing the downtown area.

Volunteer Today! Wrap for the Greenbelt
Help raise funds for Greenbelt Alliance. REI is donating funds to nonprofit groups who wrap presents at their stores throughout the Bay Area this holiday season. We invite you to join GA staff as we wrap for the greenbelt! Shifts available in Fremont on December 7 and Berkeley on December 21 and 22. Even if you can't join us, come to REI on one of those days and have us wrap your presents. Email volunteer@greenbelt.org to get involved now.
