Greenbelt Alliance is seeking several
energetic and reliable individuals to staff an information table at various
events throughout the Bay Area.
About Us
Greenbelt Alliance is the Bay Area's leading land conservation and urban planning
nonprofit. Our mission is to make the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area
a better
place to live by protecting the region's greenbelt and improving the livability
of its cities and towns. Since 1958, we have been active across the nine-county
region protecting open space, opposing sprawl, and promoting smart growth.
We
have helped save over 1.1 million acres of greenbelt and we're a leader in
promoting regional solutions to the problems of sprawl.
Responsibilities
Outreach Volunteers will staff a Greenbelt Alliance information table at various
events throughout the Bay Area. The volunteers will inform visitors about
Greenbelt Alliance, recruit new Greenbelt Alliance members and volunteers,
distribute
literature, and handle general administrative duties involved with table
set up.
Commitment
The minimum commitment is one month.
Talents/Skills Desired
The
ideal volunteer will be reliable, energetic, and eager to learn about Greenbelt
Alliance. The volunteer should be willing to converse with visitors and advocate
for Greenbelt Alliance.
Benefits
This position is an excellent way to learn about Greenbelt Alliance and Bay
Area conservation issues. The volunteer will learn effective outreach and
tabling methods while making a real difference in the community by promoting
open space protection and livable neighborhoods.
