Grants Assistant Internship |
Greenbelt Alliance is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong interest
in non-profit development, management, communications, public relations and/or
environmental and land use issues for an internship through our Development
Department.
About Greenbelt Alliance
Greenbelt Alliance is the Bay Area's land conservation and urban planning nonprofit.
Our mission is to make the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area a better place
to live by protecting the region's greenbelt and improving its cities and
towns. Since 1958, Greenbelt Alliance has helped to permanently protect over
1 million acres of the Bay Area’s natural areas and working farms.
Our Development Department is located in downtown San Francisco.
Responsibilities
The Grants Assistant Intern will research and index small foundation/corporate
grant opportunities. The intern will compile materials and complete appropriate
paperwork and assist the Development Department by participating in membership
acquisition and
event
planning.
Intern tasks
include researching and developing a membership acquisition campaign, assisting
in direct mail and major donor events, researching and soliciting sponsorships,
and assisting with Greenbelt Outings and other events.
Commitment
This is an ongoing opportunity that is available year -round. The position
requires a 10-hour per week commitment. Work can be done from home, with
weekly check-in
at
the
San Francisco
office
with a
supervisor.
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for professional grant writers looking for a pro-bono
opportunity, college students interested in nonprofit development/fundraising,
and community members interested in increasing Greenbelt Alliance's presence
in their community. The ideal candidate will have experience applying for
foundation/corporate support
(i.e.proposals writing,research).
The candidate
should
be a self-motivated
individual with outstanding writing skills who can stay on task. An interest
in Greenbelt Alliance's mission and goals, including experience or interest
in land use planning, climate change, and open space protection is a plus.
